Bologna set to allow Jhon Lucumi to leave.

Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí has been given the green light to leave the club this summer, with uncertainty still surrounding the Colombian centre-back’s next destination.
Bologna CEO Claudio Fenucci has confirmed that the club will not stand in Lucumí’s way if a suitable offer is received. Fenucci revealed that the club had previously promised the defender they would allow him to move on, honouring a commitment made after turning down several offers they considered below their valuation last summer.
Among those interested was Sunderland AFC, who saw multiple bids rejected during the 2025 summer transfer window. Lucumí ultimately agreed to remain at the club for another season, playing a key role as Bologna secured an eighth-place finish in Serie A as well as reaching the UEFA Europa League Round of 16, where they were eliminated by eventual winners Aston Villa.
With just one year remaining on his contract and no intention of signing an extension, Lucumí now appears set to bring his time with the Italian club to an end.
